Rupam Dutta
Rupam Dutta is an academician, researcher, author, editor, reviewer, and the Founder and Publisher of Rupam Wisdom Publishers. He specializes in Indian Philosophy, Sanskrit and Pali studies. Alongside his academic pursuits, he is also engaged in creative writing as a poet, essayist, translator, short story writer and epistolarian.
He holds an M.Phil. (First Class First), M.A. in Sanskrit from the University of Calcutta, M.A. in Philosophy from the University of Burdwan, B.A. (Honours) in Sanskrit from Sanskrit College, BLIS from Netaji Subhas Open University, and a Diploma and Certificate in Pali from the University of Calcutta. His M.Phil. dissertation, Philosophy of Lord Buddha and Śaṅkarācārya from the Point of View of Swami Vivekananda, presented a comparative philosophical study of Buddhist thought and Advaita Vedānta through the interpretative perspective of Swami Vivekananda. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in the Department of Sanskrit at the University of Calcutta.
He has qualified the UGC–NTA National Eligibility Test (NET) and the West Bengal State Eligibility Test (WBSET) in Sanskrit. He has taught postgraduate courses in Sanskrit at the Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE), The University of Burdwan.
His research interests include Advaita Vedānta, Nyāya–Vaiśeṣika Philosophy, Buddhist Philosophy, Contemporary Indian Philosophy, Sanskrit Literature, Pali Literature, Comparative Philosophy and Intellectual History. His research explores classical Indian philosophical traditions and their dialogue with contemporary intellectual thought.
Dutta is the author of Adwaita Vedanter Māyā, Pāścātya Darśaner Bhrama (Illusion) Ebam Digital-Sṛṣṭa Vibhrama and Nyāya–Vaiśeṣika Darśaner Abhāvatattva O Astitvavāder Śūnyatā-Cintār Tulanāmūlak Darśanik Biśleṣaṇ. He has edited Brahmasūtra 1.1 (Śānkarabhāṣya), Sanskrit Works of Swami Vivekananda with Philosophical Significance and Sanskrit Question Conception (C.U. B.A. CCF Semesters I & II).
His publications include books, research articles, book chapters and book reviews published in edited volumes and peer-reviewed academic journals.
